Zagorskaya HPP has generated 55 billion kWh of clean electricity

The Zagorsk Pumped Storage Power Plant (HPP) has generated 55 billion kWh of environmentally friendly, "green" electricity, which is 8 billion kWh more than Moscow's annual consumption. This is stated in the message of RusHydro.

The station covers the daily peak loads in the Moscow and Central Power systems. The upper and lower basins of the station are connected by six pressure water pipes 700 m long and 7.5 m in diameter. The water pressure at the turbines of the Zagorskaya PSPP is 100 m.

Currently, three pumped storage power plants are in operation in Russia: Zagorskaya, Kubanskaya and Zelenchukskaya HPP. All of them are part of RusHydro. PSPPs are important for ensuring reliable operation of the energy system, as well as creating conditions for the most efficient and safe operation of thermal and nuclear power plants.

The share capital structure of PJSC RusHydro as of September 30, 2024: RF (62.2%), VTB (12.37%), EN+Group (9.61%), others (15.82%).

RusHydro's net profit under IFRS in the first half of 2024 amounted to 23.7 billion rubles, a decrease of 50.4% year-on-year. Revenue increased by 8.4% to RUB 314.8 billion, while EBITDA decreased by 4.3% to RUB 75.3 billion.

The net loss of PJSC RusHydro under RAS for 2024 amounted to 13.4 billion rubles. EBITDA increased by 21% to RUB 137 billion. compared to a year earlier.
