Aeroflot will become a new member The Alliance in the field of artificial intelligence (hereinafter referred to as the Alliance) after the completion of mandatory corporate procedures. This intention was announced by the airline and the Alliance within the framework of the international AI Journey conference, which is taking place in Moscow from December 11 to 13, 2024.
The company has identified several promising areas for the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into the company's activities. One of them is the creation of digital twins: a special software package that virtually duplicates the main processes of the enterprise. It allows you to analyze and optimize processes, and is also the basis for continuous machine learning.
The flagship point of AI use at Aeroflot is the airline's Automated Revenue Management System (ACMS). Neural networks can accurately predict the demand for air travel to a depth of 3 days to 1 year. This will allow the airline to maximize the use of aircraft capacities with optimal economic effect and promptly respond to changes in demand. It is expected that the total economic effect of the ASUD will amount to at least 3 billion rubles at the first stage.
Through participation in the Alliance, Aeroflot plans to develop and refine the automated control system so that other Russian airlines can use it in the future.
Anton Matskevich, Deputy General Director of PJSC Aeroflot for Information Technology and Information Security: "Aeroflot is at the forefront of domestic transport industry enterprises in terms of digitalization. We are the first to introduce the latest IT products and successfully import foreign software. The Department of Artificial Intelligence Development is responsible for the practical and industrial use of AI in the Aeroflot Group. AI technologies are the future of the digital industry, and we are well aware of this."
To date, the AI Alliance includes 12 companies, and the expanded format of industry clubs unites more than 90 representatives of developers and companies that implement AI in various sectors of the economy. The Alliance was established in 2019 and unites the largest players in the AI technology market to consolidate efforts in solving common challenges and tasks - in the field of infrastructure, self—regulation, education, personnel and science, assessing the quality of AI solutions, facilitating the introduction of technology in various industries, and developing international relations.
