The neural network developed by NtechLab, a technology partner of Rostec State Corporation, will help optimize the operation of buses, trolleybuses and trams in Nizhny Novgorod. Artificial intelligence will analyze the number of waiting passengers, identify crowded stops and automatically notify dispatchers of the congestion.

The algorithm works based on an impersonal count of the number of passengers waiting at stops. Thanks to the data received from the system, the dispatch center can quickly respond to changes in the situation at bus stops and increase the intensity of urban transport if necessary.

AI is able to identify the busiest routes and notify about the need to use an additional fleet of vehicles, especially during rush hour.

"NtechLab's products are aimed at improving the quality of the urban environment, which undoubtedly includes comfortable public transport. Currently, our solution covers 300 stops in Nizhny Novgorod. The application of this AI is also in demand in other regions — several cities have already shown interest, and we are preparing to launch pilot projects in the near future," said Alexey Palamarchuk, CEO of NtechLab.

NtechLab solutions are widely used in the Nizhny Novgorod region. For example, a system for monitoring the condition of urban container sites is being successfully used. At the last CIPR-2025 forum, the developer and the regional administration also signed a cooperation agreement, which, among other things, implies the joint implementation of digital solutions for the urban environment.
