Beloyarsk NPP has received a license from Rostechnadzor to extend the operation of power unit No. 3 until 2040

On March 31, 2025, the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostechnadzor) issued a permit to Rosenergoatom Concern (the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) for an additional 15-year period of operation of power unit No. 3 with a BN-600 fast neutron reactor at the Beloyarsk NPP. Its reliability was confirmed by Rostechnadzor as a result of a comprehensive assessment of the technical condition of the power unit, which made it possible to conclude that it could continue to operate until 2040 and that the equipment fully complies with all modern safety standards.

The technical condition was assessed by design and research organizations: I.I. Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering, JSC Atomenergoproekt, JSC Gidropress Experimental Design Bureau, JSC All-Russian Research Institute for the Operation of Nuclear Power Plants (JSC VNIIAES), JSC State Scientific The Center of the Russian Federation is the A. I. Leipunsky Institute of Physics and Energy (JSC SSC RF - FEI), the Kurchatov Institute Scientific Research Center (SIC) is the Central Research Institute of Structural Materials (CNII KM) Prometheus.
