In the 2 months since the beginning of the year, exports of products from the agro-industrial complex of the Moscow region increased by 56% in value terms, compared with the same period last year. Growth is observed in several types of commodity items at once, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow region reports.
"The Moscow region is strengthening the role of the agrohub in the Central Federal District — last year we took 4th place among the regions of Russia in terms of the value of exports of agricultural products. This year, shipments of grain increased in value by 8.5 times in 2 months compared to the same period last year, and products of the fat and oil industry increased by 2.1 times. Exports of meat also increased by more than 71%, dairy products — by 22.4%, fish and seafood — by 2.4%," said Sergey Dvoinykh, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
The region's agricultural products are supplied to more than 80 countries around the world, with key partners being the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. In addition, according to the results of last year, the Moscow region took 1st place in the Russia's exports in value terms of certain types of products. The region accounted for 77% of Russian beef supplies, 70% of shipments of fermented dairy products, 55% of cheeses and cottage cheese, 44% of pork, 33% of poultry meat, 26% of beverages, 37% of chilled fish, 24% of processed fruits, vegetables, nuts.
