GAZ Group has presented a bus powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). The LiAZ-5292 LNG flagship urban model is the first Russian certified bus fired by the new environmentally friendly fuel.
The bus has successfully passed certification tests and received a vehicle type approval certificate. The presentation in Magnitogorsk included the first bus refueling ceremony using the gas fuel produced at the new LNG complex. The bus will now start test operation on regular routes in Chelyabinsk. Following the test operation, Likino Gas Plant will start preparations for the manufacture of the first pilot batch of LiAZ-5292 LNG buses (scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020).
