On June 7-8, the seventh educational career guidance business game "Pioneers of the Shelf" took place on the basis of the All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean". The event was organized by Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Together with Gazprom Shelfproekt specialists, the gas workers introduced 100 participants of Ocean's thematic shifts from all over Russia to the basics of the industry, told them about minerals and wells, methane and condensate, separators and underwater mining complexes.
For the first time in the history of the educational project, two educational tracks were held in parallel in June 2025 — for students aged 12-14 and 15-17. The programs differed in the content and depth of the tasks that the participants had to solve.
The younger "pioneers" got acquainted with the main technological and advanced achievements. Lectures and practical exercises for them were held in an easy playful way — the participants solved mathematical problems, figured out puzzles, designed models of equipment and even went on a geological expedition in search of rare minerals.
Experienced gas workers have set more serious tasks for the older guys. They had to not only learn about the work of the industry, but also prepare a project for offshore field development themselves. Among other things, to solve the issues of supply, logistics, provision of fishing personnel and sales of finished products.
"Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk pays considerable attention to early career guidance and personnel training for the industry. And one of the company's most striking projects is the business game "Pioneers of the Shelf". It became an opportunity for the guys not only to get acquainted with the gas industry and gain deeper knowledge about it, but also to determine their life priorities and goals. I am sure that for some of the guys, participation in the project will be a step towards a conscious choice of profession in one of the most interesting and important industries for the country," said Valery Guryanov, CEO of the company.
