The Microgen enterprise of the Natsimbio holding of Rostec State Corporation has released into civilian circulation a new Russian drug for the treatment of allergies — an allergen from house dust mites. The first batch has already been sent to medical institutions.
The drug is available in the form of an aqueous saline solution and is intended for the diagnosis and treatment of allergies. In the first case, it determines hypersensitivity to the house dust mite. Diagnosis is carried out by skin sampling, a reliable and widely used method that allows you to get results within 15 minutes. The procedure is painless with minimal impact on the patient's tissues and organs. Research can be conducted for adults and children over the age of four.
In the treatment, the drug is used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). Among the indications are inflammation of the nasal mucosa and bronchial asthma caused by hypersensitivity to the tick Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus. Currently, ASIT is the only method of treating allergic diseases that affects their pathogenetic cause, and not just their clinical manifestations. The therapy is performed by subcutaneous immunotherapy. According to clinical studies, its effectiveness is comparable to the latest method of allergy treatment — sublingual immunotherapy, in which the immune system gradually adapts and develops complete insensitivity to the allergen. At the same time, the method is more economically accessible to patients.
