Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Sergey Anoprienko took part in the 24th meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which is taking place in Bishkek.

Sergey Anoprienko noted that March of this year marked the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Kyrgyz Republic. And he assured that the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia is open for cooperation and is ready to provide support on the whole range of environmental and natural resource issues.

The parties discussed the preparation of a new Memorandum of Cooperation. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Beksultan Ibraimov said that the draft document is already being worked out by specialists.

"Taking into account the wishes of the Kyrgyz side, we have expanded the framework of the memorandum of 2014 and introduced new areas of cooperation, such as water and forest resources, as well as geology and subsoil use. Of course, the project must still pass interdepartmental coordination in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, but I am convinced that the consolidated text prepared by our specialists will pass this procedure quickly enough," said the Deputy head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.

During the meeting, it was stressed that a "roadmap" will be developed for the implementation of the new Memorandum, which will include specific measures, deadlines and responsible executors.
