Rosneft and the Voronezh Tourist Information Center (TIC) presented a new tourist automobile route "Cave Temples", within which travelers will be able to see the most picturesque places in the region.
Rosneft actively supports initiatives to develop domestic tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for road travelers. The development of roadside services and the improvement of the level of customer services provided at Rosneft gas stations is one of the Company's priorities.
The presentation of the new route took place within the framework of the summer festival "Night in Divnogorye", which took place on July 5 at the Divnogorye Museum-Reserve. Entertainment events and a quiz with memorable prizes were held for the guests. Coloring pages "Mishutka's Journey through the Voronezh Region" were also prepared for children.
The Cave Temples route starts in Voronezh and ends in Belogorye. Its total length in one direction is 286 km. The route passes through the infrastructure of Rosneft's roadside services, where tourists will be able to fill up their car with high-quality fuel, relax and have a snack.
There are several cave temples in the Voronezh Region: these are passages cut out of soft chalk rocks, historically used as religious buildings – underground churches and monasteries. Following the new route along the M4 Don highway from Voronezh to the south, travelers can visit all three cave temple complexes in Liskinsky and Podgorensky districts.
There are two cave temples available for visiting in the Divnogorye Nature Reserve. One of them, the icons of the Mother of God of Sicily in Large Divas, is located directly on the territory of the museum-reserve. It is cut down at the base of the Cretaceous remnant-diva, has two tiers connected by a stairway. You can visit the temple as part of guided tours conducted by the staff of the museum-reserve. The cave church dedicated to the Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Maly Divy can be reached on foot in 30-40 minutes.
The second complex is located in the village of Kostomarovo, Podgorensky district. Of particular interest is the Church of the Savior Not Made with Hands. It includes a maze of cave corridors and has a throne, considered the most ancient, and an icon of the Mother of God "Blessed Heaven" revered by believers.
About 80 km to the south you can see Voskresensky Belogorsky monastery in Belogorye. The length of the caves of the Belogorsky Voskresensky Monastery is more than 2 km, they are the longest of the artificially paved passages in the mountains. The temple is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are guides on site.
Rosneft and the Voronezh Region have a Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of domestic tourism, signed in 2024 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The company, together with the region, has already presented four routes for traveling by car in Voronezh and the Voronezh region in the following directions: North, South, West, East. The routes include popular tourist destinations located both in Voronezh itself and near federal highways.
