RT-Techpriemka (part of Rostec State Corporation) has automated production at Techpribor (part of Rostec State Corporation's Radioelectronic Technologies Concern) in St. Petersburg. Within the framework of the three projects, an intelligent video monitoring system, smart storage technologies and multifunctional robotic complexes were introduced. New solutions make it possible to increase the efficiency of the enterprise and identify production risks.

Warehouse storage automation includes the installation and launch of a system operating on the principle of a high-rise carousel. Unlike traditional storage methods, the solution allows efficient use of the vertical space of the warehouse and eliminates unauthorized access: all shelves with parts are located inside a closed cabinet. Unlike classic racks, where an employee searches for cargo among numerous rows by himself, in the carousel system, cassettes with parts are sent to the operator upon request. This saves time and eliminates staff mistakes. The automated system is integrated with the enterprise's ERP system using wireless data collection terminals based on the Warehouse 15 software.

A video surveillance network of 60 cameras with intelligent video analytics modules was also installed. It will allow you to record the presence of employees at their workplaces in real time and determine the availability of workwear. The implemented solution ensures the transition of industrial video surveillance as a passive event recording tool to a full-fledged production process management system based on video stream analysis.

During the implementation of the project, the specialists carried out comprehensive commissioning, set up a control system and video analytics, and trained the company's staff to work with new equipment and software. Specialists from the warehouse and production sites, as well as engineering and technical staff responsible for the operation and administration of the systems, were instructed and practiced.

"Prior to the implementation of the project, warehouse accounting and control of production operations at the sites were carried out mainly manually. This created operational risks when working with expensive tools and accessories, and also made it impossible to detect deviations in the technological process. Our task was not just to supply the equipment, but to provide the company with full control over the movement of products. We have implemented a solution that connects the warehouse with the enterprise's ERP system, and video surveillance with machine data, in a single digital environment. Now, the movement of a tool or workpiece from the warehouse to the machine and back is reflected in the system and accompanied by video recording. This makes it possible to eliminate production losses, respond promptly to operational disruptions and reduce equipment downtime," said Vladlen Shorin, CEO of RT—Techpriemka.

In addition, four robotic complexes have been installed at Techpribor as part of the implementation of the integrated project. They automate the loading and unloading of CNC lathes, the making of permanent connections during sensor assembly, soldering of electrical components and wiring before installation.
