The System Operator of the Unified Energy System " (SO UES) reported that it had ensured the commissioning of the second stage of the Arshan solar power plant in Kalmykia, which is the largest solar generation facility in the UES of Russia.
With its commissioning, the station's capacity amounted to 115.6 MW, making the Arshanskaya SES the largest solar generation facility in the UES of Russia. Previously, the palm of the championship belonged to the SES Perovo with a capacity of 105.58 MW in the Crimean power System," the SO UES noted, adding that the station has implemented remote control technology for both active and reactive power generating equipment, installed modern relay protection and emergency automation devices, as well as information collection and transmission systems.
It is noted that with the new commissioning, the share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the installed generation capacity of the Kalmykia power system has reached 96% (453.1 MW).
