On December 23, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted the summing up ceremony of the annual contests "Benefactor of the City of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk" and "Success of the Year". Certificates of honor and awards from the government of the Sakhalin Region, the administration of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the City Duma were awarded to more than 40 companies and organizations that have contributed to the development of charity and the implementation of significant projects for the region. Three Sakhalin Gazprom Group companies were among the winners of the contests.
In the competition "Benefactor of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk", Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk LLC (nomination — "Caring for the future") and Sakhalin linear production management of main pipelines Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk LLC (nomination - "Master of Good deeds") became the winners.
In the Construction of the Year nomination of the Success of the Year competition, the new Volna Aquatics Center, built at Gazprom's expense, was recognized as the most significant project for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This is a modern multifunctional complex of international level, which not only expanded the opportunities for sports, but also made possible the development of new sports. The award in the nomination was accepted by a representative of GEH Engineering LLC, part of Gazprom Energoholding. This company oversaw the construction of the facility and ensured its construction and commissioning in record time.
