Sheremetyevo international airport has announced the results of cargo production activities for the first half of 2020. Despite the negative impact of the severe crisis in the air transportation sector amid the spread of coronavirus, Sheremetyevo airport retains its leadership in cargo handling among the airports of the Moscow air hub. During the six months of this year, Sheremetyevo handled over 134,000 tonnes of cargoes and 15,000 tonnes of mail.
Moscow Cargo LLC, the main cargo operator of Sheremetyevo, handled 103,884 tonnes of cargoes and mail accounting for about 73% of the airport's total cargo traffic.
The key external destinations accounting for about half of the total cargo flow are Germany, China, Korea, the United States, and the Netherlands.
Moscow Cargo LLC is a modern high-tech cargo air terminal and the main handling operator of Sheremetyevo International Airport accounting for 72.5% of the airport's total cargo and mail turnover.
