This is one of the key hydroelectric power plants in the Murmansk Region. Together with the Serebryanskaya HPP—1, it performs frequency control functions and serves as an emergency reserve for the power system.
The work was carried out with a complete disassembly of the equipment. The specialists repaired the kinematics of the impeller, the trunnions of the blades of the guiding device, restored the elements of the support plate and updated the worn coating of its parts. The covers of the oil coolers of the guide bearings and the support plate of the generator were also replaced, which increased the reliability of the turbine's water cooling system.
As part of the repair, the anti-corrosion protection was restored on the emergency valves of the hydraulic unit, their rubber seals were replaced and a complex of work was carried out to repair the power grids.
"During this repair, we carried out mechanical processing of the multi—ton part of the turbine - the shaft neck of the hydraulic unit in the conditions of the station, repaired the mechanisms and components of the main and auxiliary equipment of the hydro turbine. All this has made it possible to increase the reliability of the plant," said Maxim Nosach, Chief Engineer of the Tulomsky and Serebryansky HPPs Cascade at TGC—1.
