Rostec State Corporation's Roselectronics Holding has developed a synchronous electric motor for elevators. The product is a low-speed motor with permanent magnets, the use of which will save electricity, as well as provide high-quality operation of elevators and comfort for passengers.

The new electric motor is designed for installation in a gearless elevator winch. It was developed as part of a project to create an intelligent engine control system for the main drive of the elevator, which includes the electric motor itself and the control unit. The system provides for driving the elevator cab along the shaft for standard elevators with a load capacity of up to 1000 kg at a speed of up to 2 m/s. Thanks to the used circuit solutions, the equipment allows you to get rid of unnecessary friction losses and increase energy efficiency.

The new product was developed by the Kaluga Electromechanical Plant (KEMZ) of the Automatika concern. The main customer of the enterprise is the Shcherbinsky Elevator-building plant.

"New synchronous motors for elevators have expanded the range of engines mass-produced at the enterprise. Our products are used in automobile and machine tool construction, in the creation of pumps, compressors, automatic doors, as well as in the oil and gas sector, where they are used to control pipeline dampers. The main advantage of KEMZ engines is that they have a large power and efficiency coefficient, have a wider range of speed adjustment and better weight and size indicators, and are reliable in operation," said the General Director of JSC KEMZ Boris Movtyan.
