The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has established zero rates of import customs duties on waste and scrap of precious metals (codes 7112 30 000 0, 7112 91 000 0, 7112 92 000 0 and 7112 99 000 0 TONS of foreign economic activity of the EAEU) until December 31, 2028 inclusive.

"The effectiveness of applying a similar measure of customs and tariff regulation in the previous period is confirmed by maintaining the level of utilization of production capacities of refining enterprises of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as increasing consumption of waste and scrap of precious metals," said Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the Department of Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of the EEC.

He specified that due to their physico-chemical properties, precious metals are used in various industries, and the sources of primary raw materials are limited.

The current rates of import customs duties of the EAEU Customs Union for waste and scrap of precious metals amount to 15% of the customs value.

The decision will enter into force after 30 calendar days from the date of its official publication.

In accordance with earlier decisions of the EEC Board, import customs duty rates of 0% of the customs value for the goods in question are applied from June 2015 to the end of December 2025.
