Prospects for cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the International Organization for Migration in the field of labor and social protection were discussed at the meeting by the Minister of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC Bakytzhan Sagintayev with the Director General of the IOM Antonio Vitorino.
"One of the key tasks of the Commission is not only to implement the existing preferences for citizens, but also to work on further improving the comfort of employment in the EAEU," Bakytzhan Sagintayev stressed.The parties agreed on further cooperation between the EEC and IOM in a number of areas, including cooperation in the implementation of regional projects on labor migration, as well as information and analytical exchange.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev's meeting with Antonio Vitorino took place within the framework of the First session of the International Dialogue on Migration on March 30 and 31, 2023 at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and was devoted to the topic "Effective attraction of people's mobility in order to implement the Sustainable Development Goals".
Representatives of 159 countries of the world, delegates of governments, international organizations, civil society and academic circles take part in the dialogue and exchange experience in a number of areas, including labor migration and social protection.
