Stranded tourists will start leaving Dubai on the evening of March 2. The sky over the Middle East is "opening up": Today, "outbound" flights from Abu Dhabi (Etihad) flew to Moscow, and from Oman – Oman Air. In the evening, some tourists from "missed" flights from Dubai will be taken by Arab airlines to Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Kazan. And tomorrow, perhaps, Aeroflot will fly to take out passengers.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (GCAA) has announced the start of unscheduled flights at UAE airports, which will allow tourists who find themselves in a difficult situation due to the Middle East crisis to fly home. The message says that the schedule will be announced by the airlines themselves to the delayed passengers.
What is now known (according to airline statements)
Emirates announced that starting late in the evening on March 2, it will begin operating a limited number of "outbound" flights from two Dubai airports (passengers with previously issued tickets for failed flights are a priority). Those who have been rebooked on these flights will be contacted directly by Emirates. Passengers are asked not to come to the airport unless they have received an official notification from the airline.
According to tour operators, the airline will be able to operate only 4 flights per hour (not all of them to Russia). According to the information available to ATOR, this airline will not have flights to Russia on March 2. But they have been on the schedule since March 4, and delayed passengers are already getting their tickets changed.
However, all other Emirates flights are still suspended until further notice, and the schedule will be adjusted as the situation develops (updates are posted on the airline's official resources)
flydubai, according to the Dubai Media Office, will begin operating a limited number of flights on the evening of March 2, 2026. In this case, we are also talking about the removal of passengers who were unable to leave the UAE on schedule.
Flights FZ 8489 to Moscow (Vnukovo), FZ 8205 to Kazan, FZ 8263 to Yekaterinburg and FZ 8081 to Novosibirsk will be operated. In particular, tourists from the FUN&SUN tour operator will fly on them.
Passengers are advised to update their contact information through the Manage Your Booking section, check the flight status on the airline's official website, and do not travel to the airport without confirming departure.
Dubai Airport Administration strongly urges passengers whose flights have been previously cancelled not to head to airports until they are contacted and informed of their airline's flight schedule and details in order to avoid crowding and ensure uninterrupted data processing.
What about Abu Dhabi and Oman
Recall that the Etihad flight has already taken off today from Abu Dhabi to Sheremetyevo. The flight brought passengers to Moscow who were scheduled to depart on February 28 from Abu Dhabi. Oman Air flight WY184 took passengers from Muscat to Moscow.
Tomorrow, the same airlines will take away another "portion" of tourists who have involuntarily stayed in these countries. Etihad Airways flight EY844 will depart Sheremetyevo for Abu Dhabi at 23.50 on March 2, and Oman Air flight WY184 for Muscat at 22.20 on March 2.
What about the flights of Russian airlines to the Emirates and other countries of the Middle East
Russian airlines, according to an official statement from the Ministry of Transport, are also preparing for a limited resumption of flights to the Middle East. According to the results of the meeting held at the department on March 2, air carriers were instructed to form plans in advance to increase their carrying capacities, provide for additional flights and at the same time prevent speculative price increases after the unblocking of destinations.
"Slots are currently being discussed with a number of Middle Eastern airports. The priority is flight safety," the Ministry of Transport said in a statement.
No more specifics are given, but according to information circulating on the market from tour operators, Aeroflot is expected to be the first to begin exporting its passengers on March 3. These flights will also be designed to take out stranded tourists, most likely, tickets for them will not be available.
