Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Karanik discussed in Minsk with Lalit Chokani, head of Chokhani Pharma, promising areas for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of new pharmaceutical products, BelTA learned from the NAS press service.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to the potential of attracting leading Indian pharmaceutical companies such as Cipla Limited, TEVA, RAKS, Inventia, consolidating common efforts and sharing experiences with Akadempharm.

"Cooperation with these companies, which have significant experience and production facilities, is a strategically proven step for us that can significantly increase the competitiveness of the Belarusian pharmaceutical industry," said Vladimir Karanik.

According to him, the Belarusian-Indian cooperation in this area opens up new horizons for academic science and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole.

"The emphasis is on medicines and substances that could meet both domestic needs with affordable and high-quality medicines and enter export markets, contributing to ensuring technological sovereignty and strengthening the country's economic potential," said the head of the National Academy of Sciences.

In turn, Lalit Chokani noted the high scientific potential of Belarusian scientists and the commitment of the Akadempharm academic enterprise to introduce advanced developments. He also expressed his willingness to assist in the promotion of joint initiatives and the implementation of bilateral projects.
