Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek. Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin also took part in the negotiations. In the field of railway transport, in the first 7 months of 2026, the volume of foreign trade cargo transportation between Russia and Armenia increased by 63.4% and amounted to 86 thousand tons.
According to the results of 6 months of 2026, passenger traffic by air amounted to more than 885 thousand people. These figures confirm the active development of air travel and the growing interest in travel between the two countries.
Bilateral and transit road transport between the countries is carried out on a non-permissive basis within the framework of the EAEU space. In addition, 700 permits for transportation to and from third countries were exchanged in advance this year. There are also 4 regular bus routes.
