Uralvagonzavod operating as part of Rostec State Corporation's Uralvagonzavod Concern has signed a contract for the production of a large batch of innovative wagons. Under the contract, the Nizhny Tagil-based company will manufacture 3,053 innovative gondola cars of model 12-196-02 by this September.
The gondola car of model 12-196-02 was designed by specialists of the Ural Railcar Building Design Bureau (Nizhny Tagil). Such gondola cars have been manufactured at Uralvagonzavod since 2015.
"Gondola cars of model 12-196-02 are the highlight of the product line of innovative UVZ products. They were designed taking into account the existing stringent railway infrastructure requirements. Uralvagonzavod is currently fulfilling contracts for the supply of both batch and specialized rolling stock, which increases our capacity utilization," Boris Myagkov, Deputy CEO for Civilian Products of Uralvagonzavod Concern.
