The library of the Lyceum named after G. F. Atyaksheva in Yugorsk (Khanty—Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra) has been replenished with unique books developed by specialists of the Alexander Degen Illustrated Books for Small Blind Children Charitable Foundation (Moscow). The educational institution has this opportunity thanks to the long-term cooperation of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk LLC — the patronage company of the Yugorsky Lyceum — with a Charitable foundation. The adaptive literature was purchased with funds allocated to the Fund by the gas transportation company.
The uniqueness of children's books lies primarily in their polysensory nature: multi-layered application, high contour, varnish used in printing technology, sound design of books and typhoid comments on them allow children with visual impairment and other developmental disabilities to gain new knowledge, expand their understanding of the world around them, develop motor skills and other skills, contribute to the improvement of speech and the socialization of children.
According to the head of the educational institution Svetlana Platonova, adapted educational programs for children with special educational needs are being implemented at the G.F. Atyrau Lyceum, and the use of such unique specialized literature in the educational process will be another important step towards creating equal opportunities for all school students.
In addition to the Yugorsky Lyceum, books from the Illustrated Books for Small Blind Children Charitable Foundation, with the assistance of Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk LLC, were received by preschool educational institutions in the cities of Sovetsky and Uraeus (Khanty—Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra).
