Vnukovo airport serves first flight from Turkey after reopening of regular international flights

On August 1, Vnukovo airport served the first flight from Turkey after regular international flights resumed in Russia: Turkish Airlines carried out the flight connecting Istanbul (IST) and Moscow (VKO) using a special airliner carrying a new livery.

Besides, Pobeda airlines flew to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen airport on August 1. Vnukovo airport will shortly resume air links with other Turkish cities (Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum). Flights to Turkey will be carried out by Turkish Airlines, Pobeda, Azur Air, and iFly. Besides, low-cost air carrier Wizz Air UK plans to resume regular flights connecting Vnukovo and London (UK).

JSC International Airport Vnukovo (tax number: 7710404473) is one of the largest air transportation complexes of Russia annually handling about 200,000 flights of Russian and foreign airline companies. Its flight geography covers the whole of Russia, as well as the CIS countries, Europe, Americas, Asia and Africa. In 2019, Vnukovo international airport reached a new historic high serving more than 24 million passengers, which is 11.7% (or 2.5 million passengers) above the 2018 result.

The air-terminal complex with a total area of approximately 300,000 square meters enables it to serve up to 35 million passengers per year.

Vnukovo international airport is the only Russian airport to which Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded a commendation for labor success and high professional performance. Also, the airport staff earned various awards from the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Mayor of Moscow, the Federal Air Transport Agency, etc.
