Gazprom transgaz Stavropol (LLC) 19 September 2023 12:49 On September 18, the Festival of Culture and Sports of the Peoples of the South of Russia ended in Stavropol, where the famous Gazprom weightlifter, multiple world champion in powerlifting Alexander Zaitsev became a participant.

16 teams from the regions of the North Caucasus, as well as representatives from the subjects of the Southern Federal District, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics competed for the awards of the tournament in 11 sports.

Alexander Zaitsev performed in power extreme demonstrations. On the central square of the regional center, he towed a car weighing two and a half tons with one hand, plus another ton was added by "passengers" from among the spectators. A physical education instructor at the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol Palace of Culture and Sports dragged a car with people for twenty meters, which became a new record in Russia.

"Our famous strongmen have always practiced demonstration performances. These show records are designed primarily to motivate people to play sports. Energy, emotions, the opportunity to personally try to move the same car — all this greatly affects the audience. I am glad that Stavropol residents have the opportunity to see the performance of the country's strongest people, including their countryman Alexander Zaitsev," commented Vasily Grishchenko, chairman of the Russian Federation of Extreme Power Sports.

Another Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol weightlifter took part in the festival as part of the Stavropol Territory national team — an employee of the Nevinnomyssk branch, President of the Stavropol Territory Federation for extreme power Denis Kashparov. Gazprom's heroes performed in the nomination "Competition of strongmen". They lifted a 60-kilogram dumbbell and a "log" weighing 92 kilograms. As a result, the national team of the region became the fourth in this nomination. Alexander Zaitsev also participated in the tug of war. His team took the fourth place in the standings.

After summing up the results of the competition, the Stavropol Territory team became the leader of the festival.
