The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia is restarting a project to develop entrepreneurship for women with children or on maternity leave.
"We are launching an updated project "Mom is an entrepreneur". This unique program gets a fresh start. We registered the trademark of the Program on the Ministry, and also reviewed the composition of partners. Now these are exclusively Russian companies. The educational component has also been updated, modules on demanded competencies have appeared. The online support program will be developed. The format remains unchanged — it is a series of trainings and a grant for the implementation of their plans for the winner of each regional stage," explained the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Tatiana Ilyushnikova.
In the regions, the program will be held from May 1 to October 1 in the "My Business" centers operating within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship", which is supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. The partners and co—organizers of the competition were business support organizations - the SME Corporation, the Our Future Foundation, the Union of Women of Russia.
This year, it is planned to train at least 1,500 participants across the country to conduct effective business. The trainings will focus on the main aspects of project implementation: working with motivation, generating ideas and forming profitable hypotheses, a business plan, portraits of the target audience and its segmentation, marketing and others. Based on the results of the work individually and in groups, the participants will form their projects and present them to experts.
"A modern woman can do everything: be a reliable keeper of the hearth, a kind and strict mother, an understanding and faithful wife, a caring and trembling daughter... At the same time she can be a leader of public opinion, a talented creator, an intelligent project manager, a serious production manager. A special gift of an entrepreneur mom is to keep a balance between all the roles prepared by fate or chosen by herself. I am sure that our participants have enough wisdom and experience, which they will share with everyone," comments the project partner, the Chairman of the All―Russian Public-state Organization "Union of Women of Russia" Ekaterina Lakhova.
The Mom-Entrepreneur program has been implemented in Russia for 10 years. During this time, about 7000 women took part in it, 247 people became winners of the competition. Within the framework of the program, 255 trainings were held, including on social entrepreneurship.
"According to our Foundation, about 70% of social entrepreneurs are women. Combining the care of children and business is a very difficult task that the chosen ones cope with. At the same time, social business requires more emotional return than just entrepreneurship. You should be strongly motivated to solve some social problem, give a lot of time and effort to your business. The Mom-Entrepreneur program is designed to encourage such amazing women, inspire them to develop, provide a platform for sharing experiences and communication," said the director of the Our Future Foundation Natalia Zvereva.
