At a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, the heads of government of the EAEU countries were presented with the report of the Eurasian Economic Commission "Carbon Regulation of the member States of the Eurasian Economic Union and a review of the policies of third countries."
"The document provides a comprehensive analysis of the current carbon regulation mechanisms in the EAEU countries. Special attention is paid to approaches to regulatory practices of key trading partners of the member states," said Andrei Slepnev, Minister for Trade of the EEC.
The report provides recommendations to minimize the negative impact of third-country climate measures on mutual trade with the EAEU member states, as well as to create a predictable regulatory environment conducive to the sustainable development of economies within the Union.
