Inflation in the Russian Federation since the beginning of the year amounted to 1.77%

Consumer prices in the Russian Federation for the week from March 19 to March 25, 2024, increased by 0.11%, from the beginning of March – by 0.22%, from the beginning of the year – by 1.77%. This was reported by Rosstat.

From March 19 to March 25, lamb went up in price by 1.7%, granulated sugar - by 0.7%, beef – by 0.6%, butter, margarine, sour cream, cottage cheese, hard, semi–hard and soft cheeses, vermicelli – by 0.4%, milk powder mixtures for baby food and vodka – by 0.3%, frozen fish, milk, rye bread – by 0.2%, chicken meat, boiled sausages, sunflower oil, wheat flour and rice – by 0.1%.

Prices for fruits and vegetables decreased by 0.9%. Including cucumbers fell by 5.4%, onions – by 0.3%, tomatoes – by 0.2%, potatoes and bananas – by 0.1%. Prices for carrots increased by 1%, apples – by 0.9%.

Prices decreased: for chicken eggs by 0.6%, buckwheat groats – by 0.5%, black tea – by 0.4%, millet – by 0.3%, canned meat for baby food – by 0.2% and pork – by 0.1%.

Prices for motor gasoline and diesel fuel increased by 0.1%.

Toilet paper has become more expensive by 0.9%, toothpastes – by 0.7%, toothbrushes – by 0.5%, washing powders – by 0.3%. 

Dry pet food fell by 0.2%, toilet soap – by 0.1%.

Prices for chipboard and oriented chipboard increased by 1%, edged boards - by 0.5%, televisions and jeans for children – by 0.4%, cigarettes with a filter, tracksuits for children – by 0.1%.

Smartphones fell in price by 0.6%, sneakers for adults – by 0.1%.
