MTS: the number of trips by Russians to ski resorts in the country increased by 7%

MTS, using the MTS Travel service, studied the trips of Russians to ski resorts within the country from December 2023 to March 2024. The most popular resorts among residents of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region are Bolshoy Woodyavr and Kukisvuchorr in the Murmansk region. They accounted for 30.5% and 30% of travel, respectively. This is stated in the operator's message.

Petersburgers also traveled to the Far East. So, 6% of trips in the tourist season were made to Mount Moroznaya, 5.6% — to the Krasnaya Sopka base near Petravlovsky-Kamchatsky, a little more than 3% — to the Mountain Air resort in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In addition, tourists from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region visited the mountains of the North Caucasus. They made about 7% of trips to Krasnaya Polyana, Rosa Khutor, 5.5% — to Arkhyz, 3.7% — to the Veduchi resort.

In general, the number of trips by Russians to ski resorts in the country increased by 7% year-on-year. Half of these trips took place in the Sochi mountain cluster. Another 13.5% of the total tourist flow was made to Karachay-Cherkessia, 7.5% — to Kabardino-Balkaria.
