In 2023, 10 billion rubles were allocated in the Russian Federation as part of the program to support the technological development of the oil and gas industry. In 2024, these volumes will be maintained. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov at the National Oil and Gas Forum 2024.

70 billion rubles have already been invested in the program to support the technological development of the oil and gas industry, which has been implemented since 2015.

Currently, technologies for the extraction of hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves are especially important. Recently, domestic hydraulic fracturing technology worth 1 billion rubles was tested in the Khanty-Mansiysk district.

Important areas, according to M. Ivanov, are the development of modern technologies for underwater mining, as well as the development of domestic LNG production, which should grow by 80% by 2030.

Evgeny Petrov, Head of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use, spoke about the importance of technological development in the oil and gas industry. He noted that against the background of the planned goals to increase oil and gas production by 35% by 2030, the country's main oil and gas fields in Western Siberia are being depleted. And the development of new riches of deposits in Eastern Siberia and the Far East requires, among other things, new technologies, taking into account the geological features of new deposits, as well as to solve the problems of profitability and at the same time optimal production costs, 70% of which are formed by technological costs.

All these factors make it critically important to urgently develop modern domestic equipment and technologies for oil and gas production.
