Information modeling technologies (TIM) make it possible to optimize the creation of a construction project and ensure control over the operation of the building, said Andrei Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

"Thanks to information modeling technologies, the project management mechanism has improved. Special software made it possible to create not just a 3D model, but an information core containing all the necessary data about the object, including qualitative and quantitative characteristics and documentation," he said Andrey Bochkarev.

The communication of specialists involved in the project is reaching a new level: it is not only about employees of one organization, but about complex interdepartmental interaction. The terms of approval and signing of documents may be reduced by five or more times.

"Working with digital information models increases the efficiency of financing, which is especially important in the case of construction at the expense of the budget. Optimization of procurement costs when working with information modeling can reach up to 10-15%. Working in digital has a positive effect on the timing of the project's implementation. Automation allows specialists to reduce time on routine processes and focus on issues that require particularly close attention, such as safety and energy efficiency," he added Bochkarev.

The use of digital technologies in operation can increase the service life of engineering equipment by more than 15%, increase the productivity of engineering personnel by 20%. The cost of unscheduled maintenance of equipment is reduced by up to 50%.

Previously, the deputy head of the Ministry of Construction of Russia Konstantin Mikhailik stated that Moscow remains a leader in digitalization of the construction cycle. He also noted the experience of other regions and cities – Dagestan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod.
