RN-Yuganskneftegaz, the largest oil producing enterprise of Rosneft, has saved 398 million kWh of electricity following the implementation of the energy saving program in 2023. In monetary terms, the effect amounted to about 1.8 billion rubles.
Improving the efficiency of production assets is one of the key priorities of Rosneft's strategy. The company's enterprises systematically implement measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption, optimizing electrical loads and thermal processes.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz implements advanced technological solutions to optimize the operation of production facilities, as well as modernizes pumping equipment at the well stock. The savings from the introduction of energy-efficient electric motors at the mining fund in 2023 amounted to more than 42 million kWh. Energy consumption was reduced by another 7.5 million kWh due to the modernization of centrifugal sectional pumps in the reservoir pressure maintenance system.
A significant contribution to saving resources is to increase the efficiency of electric networks by reducing the flow of reactive power, which leads to losses in electric lines, voltage drops and drawdowns. Filter-compensating devices are used to reduce overflow.
As a result of the modernization of the lighting system of RN-Yuganskneftegaz, more than 90% of lighting devices have been replaced with LED ones. The effect of the implementation of this program exceeded 30 million kWh.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz has confirmed the certificates of compliance of the Energy Management System with the requirements of GOST R ISO 50001-2012 and the requirements of the international standard ISO 50001:2018. The certification confirms the transparency and objectivity of the assessment of energy efficiency, reducing environmental impact and conservation of natural resources, and reducing costs. Due to the implementation of the energy saving program, greenhouse gas emissions in electricity consumption in 2023 were reduced by 3%.
An important component of the energy efficiency program is to increase the energy consumption culture of the company's employees. In 2023, more than 500 specialists were trained and got acquainted with the best practices in the field of saving and rational use of fuel and energy resources.
