According to the grant program of RN-Purneftegaz (part of the Rosneft oil production complex), the Kharampurovskaya agricultural community has started breeding and growing whitefish at a new fish farm. The release of juvenile juveniles into the reservoirs of the Pur-Taz river basin will increase the number of valuable commercial fish that play an important role in maintaining the traditional way of management of the indigenous peoples of Yamal.

At the expense of oil workers, Kharampurovskaya acquired and installed equipment for new fish breeding lines in cages. Agricultural community workers, most of whom are representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North, plan to launch thousands of muksun, peled and shchekur fry into new water incubators in the spring.

Earlier, with the support of RN-Purneftegaz, the fish farm tested technologies for growing rainbow trout and chira, valuable breeds of salmon and whitefish, caviar and fry breeding in the climatic conditions of Yamal. The unique experience of the fish farm is already being replicated in other municipalities of Yamal.

The release of juvenile fish is planned in the Pur River, the largest in the Purovsky district of the Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous District. Its length, together with the upper tributaries, exceeds 1 thousand km, the catchment area is 112 thousand km2. Spring and summer floods of Pura annually flood floodplain areas, in which most species of fish spawn in spring.

The release of valuable whitefish breeds over the vast Pura water area will make a significant contribution to the provision of the forest Nenets with muksun, shchekur, and other breeds of whitefish, which form the basis of their diet.

The preservation of the national culture of the indigenous peoples of the North and their traditional way of life is one of the significant directions of Rosneft's social policy. The Company's enterprises implement many social projects in the regions of their activity, develop the infrastructure of northern settlements, help families of reindeer herders, improve the material and technical base of educational institutions, social and medical facilities in the areas of the original residence of the KMNS.

Since 2023, RN-Purneftegaz has been holding a grant competition for scientific, practical, educational and research projects aimed at solving social issues of the indigenous peoples of the North living in the Purovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The new support format is designed to contribute to the preservation of the traditional way of life and the unique culture of the indigenous peoples living in the region of the enterprise.
