Robinson Helicopter Company acquires UAV assembly company Ascent AeroSystems

The American manufacturer of civil helicopters Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC) announced the acquisition of Ascent AeroSystems, a company specializing in the assembly of unmanned aerial systems. Ascent AeroSystems will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Robinson Helicopter Company.

The assembly of Ascent AeroSystems unmanned aerial systems will be carried out at the vertically integrated Robinson Helicopter production complex in Torrance, California.

Ascent AeroSystems builds coaxial UAVs designed for industrial, public safety and defense applications.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Ascent AeroSystems' headquarters will be located near Boston.

 

Robinson Helicopter Company is an American company based in Torrens, California, a major manufacturer of civilian helicopters. The vertically integrated company performs all aspects of helicopter manufacturing, from design to production, assembly, inspection and flight testing at its 617,000 square foot facility.
