The 8th Russian-Chinese EXPO will be held at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 17 to 21. It is included in the list of major events organized in China in connection with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. The Russian-Chinese EXPO is an effective platform for discussing issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as expanding contacts between the regions of Russia and China.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The organizers from the Chinese side are the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province.

The EXPO will traditionally feature stands of Russian and Chinese companies, expositions of the subjects of the Russian Federation and provinces of China. The partner regions of the exhibition this year are Moscow and Zhejiang Province. The Russian exposition will expand to more than 3.5 thousand square meters. m, leading Russian companies from such industries as mechanical engineering, fuel and energy, IT, agro-industrial complex, light industry and folk arts and crafts, financial and banking sector, transport and logistics plan to present their products and services.

16 regions of the Russian Federation announced their participation in the EXPO: the Republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Sakha (Yakutia), Komi, Khakassia; Sverdlovsk, Arkhangelsk, Tver, Amur, Penza, Astrakhan, Sakhalin Regions; Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk Territories; Moscow. On the Chinese side, 13 regions participate in the exhibition: Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Guangdong, Sichuan, Hubei, Gansu, Henan, Shandong, Zhejiang, as well as Xinjiang Uygur, Tibetan and Ningxia-Hui Autonomous Regions.

"The stronger our regional cooperation is, the stronger the foundation of cooperation between our countries as a whole. To date, the subjects of the Russian Federation have concluded more than 100 agreements with the provinces and authorities of China. Three more agreements are planned to be signed within the framework of the EXPO," said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach.

The business program will be devoted to the formation of new growth points for economic cooperation between the two countries and promising joint projects in various socio-economic spheres. The draft business program of the EXPO includes 16 events: forums, round tables, seminars, discussions, panel sessions, including on issues of interregional, trade and economic, investment, scientific and technical cooperation, strengthening ties in the fields of construction, industry, timber industry, metrology, standardization, logistics, youth entrepreneurship.

The key event of the first day of the EXPO will be the 4th Russian-Chinese Forum on Interregional Cooperation.

"The resumption of business contacts has played a major role in the restoration and further development of trade and economic ties with China. In 2023, a Russian-Chinese Business Forum was held in Shanghai, and the practice of holding the Russian-Chinese EXPO, which is the largest bilateral congress and exhibition event, was resumed. We are confident that the 8th EXPO will give an even greater impetus to strengthening Russian-Chinese economic relations," said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Vladimir Ilyichev.

In addition, an exchange of business contacts will be organized, which will provide an opportunity to directly establish relationships with the heads of companies and regions of China, conclude partnership agreements with fast-growing Chinese technology companies, professional buyers from different regions of the country.

The upcoming exhibition in Harbin will be a bright event within the framework of the cross-cultural years of Russia and China, as well as an important step for the development of bilateral relations, the promotion of mutually beneficial projects in priority areas, and strengthening the course for strategic cooperation between the parties.
