The geography of Russian fish exports in 2023 expanded to 18 countries. This was announced before the meeting of the Far Eastern Basin Scientific and Commercial Council by the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov.

"This year we need to make $5.6 billion in exports. Our main market, of course, is Asian - China, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Nigeria - the African market has also become one of the five largest for us. Supplies to other countries, both African and Latin American, are now actively developing. In 2023, about 18 countries have been added to the geography of our exports," Shestakov said.

A meeting of the Far Eastern Basin Scientific and Industrial Council is being held in Vladivostok under the chairmanship of Shestakov. Traditionally, the spring agenda of the council includes summing up the results of the Okhotsk putina season "A", preparation for the salmon putina, and amendments to the rules of fishing. The meeting is attended by VNIRO scientists, fishermen, representatives of regional authorities, regulatory agencies and the industry community.
