In St. Petersburg, the winners and prize-winners of the intellectual tournament "Multiplying talents" were named: high school students from St. Petersburg, Omsk, Orenburg, Muravlenko, Noyabrsk and the village of Pangody on Yamal received awards. This year, the jury faced a difficult task – after all, the best had to be chosen from 3 thousand participants.

Multiplying Talents is one of the largest Russian educational projects to support gifted students. The tournament is organized annually by Gazprom Neft as part of the Hometowns social investment program. Students from grades 8 to 11 participate. They solve problems in mathematics, chemistry, physics and other technical subjects. Final test: preparation of an engineering or scientific project in the field of robotics, 3D printing technologies and digital services.

The main award of the tournament is up to 10 points for the Unified State Exam (USE) for admission to ITMO University, St. Petersburg State University, Higher School of Economics and leading regional universities.

In addition to bonus points for the Unified State Exam, the winners of the tournament will receive career support from Gazprom Neft. The company organizes workshops for them that will help them choose their future profession, and will also continue to work with the authors of the best ideas in its startup accelerator INDUSTRIX.

"We consider high-quality education in the field of exact sciences to be the most important condition for the development of industry. That is why we help young people realize their potential in this area, first at school and then at university. And the intellectual tournament for schoolchildren "Multiplying talents" is one of the important components of this process. Gazprom Neft strives to ensure that capable schoolchildren can develop through our project, immersing themselves in a creative atmosphere. And the fact that the winners receive additional points for the unified state exam becomes another motivation for them. We monitor the development of the most promising guys and consider them as our talent pool."
Alexander Dybal, Head of the Department of Corporate Communications and Regional Development of Gazprom Neft

"I study at the Ugra Physics and Mathematics Lyceum and am very interested in information technology, I want to develop in this field. That's why I'm taking part in the Multiplying Talents tournament for the second time. The competition helped me greatly improve not only in the performance of practical tasks, but also, through training, to improve my flexible skills – especially teamwork. Together, we managed to prepare a project on the use of augmented reality technologies to search for underground communications. This promising digital solution makes engineering calculations in the oil industry more efficient."
Egor Ilyinykh is a participant of the Multiplying Talents tournament from Khanty-Mansiysk

"I decided to take part in this Olympiad thanks to my family – I have a very "mathematical" one. My brother was in the finals of this competition, and my dad works in the oil and gas industry. That's why I really wanted to get here. At first, I thought that school theoretical problems were waiting for us, but experts have prepared real industry cases for us. The purpose of our project, for example, was to determine the optimal location of oil wells. We have assembled a wonderful team, we have been preparing for a long time, and the jury highly appreciated our decision."
Elina Yusupova is a participant of the Multiplying Talents tournament from Noyabrsk

"Our university conducts a large number of career guidance events, as our task is not only to train students, but also to attract the attention of young people to engineering specialties. We strive to tell applicants about the specifics of various professions, identify career and scientific prospects in various fields. Our economy needs highly qualified specialists in the design, development and operation of complex technical solutions. Therefore, this year, my colleagues and I from Gazprom Neft are implementing three tracks at once: petrochemistry, mathematical modeling and digital technologies. To fully immerse ourselves in the specifics of the disciplines, we provide our own laboratories."
Alexey Itin representative of the ITMO University Admissions Committee
