11-month passenger flow of Russian Railways down 27.5%

The number of passengers served on the network of Russian Railways for 11 months of 2020 decreased by 27.5% year-on-year to 795.8 million, including 62.5 million passengers traveling by long-distance trains (-42.1%), 733.3 million passengers by commuter trains (-25.9%), the company said.

Passenger traffic decreased by 41.5% to 72.6 billion passenger km, including 22.8 billion passenger km for commuter trains, 49.8 billion passenger km for long-distance trains.

In November 2020, Russian Railways served 68.1 million passengers, which is 28.4% below the result achieved in November 2019, including 63.7 million passengers traveling by commuter trains, 4.4 million passengers by long-distance trains.

IFRS net profit of Russian Railways for 2019 increased 4.4 times to RUB 155.738 billion from RUB 35.408 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 3.9% to RUB 2.507 trillion from RUB 2.413 trillion. Profit before tax amounted to RUB 193.437 billion against RUB 68.398 billion.
