Agricultural exports from Russia to Turkmenistan increased by 92% to $142 million in 2020

In 2020, Russia supplied 219,000 tonnes of agricultural products to Turkmenistan, which is 2.8 times more than in 2019. In value terms, exports increased by 92% to $142 million, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture's AgroExport Center for Development of Agricultural Exports referring to the Federal Customs Service's data.

In 2020, sunflower oil contributed most to Russian agricultural exports to Turkmenistan (up 2.6 times to 38 thousand tonnes, up 2.9 times to $37 million in value terms).

Supplies of confectionery products increased by 11% to 5.2 thousand tonnes in physical terms, by 4.8% to $11 million in value terms.

Last year, Turkmenistan significantly increased imports of potatoes from Russia, with 34 thousand tonnes worth $11 million shipped in 2020, against no more than 1,000 tonnes per year in previous years.
