American chip manufacturer Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has completed the acquisition of Empower Semiconductor. This is reported in the ADI press release.
The deal is aimed at strengthening ADI's position as a key strategic partner in the field of energy supply in the AI ecosystem by expanding the sales market and increasing ADI's capabilities in providing AI-based computing power.
Earlier, ADI entered into an agreement to acquire Empower Semiconductor for $1.5 billion amid growing demand for chips for data centers and the development of AI systems. PJT Partners Inc. acted as an advisor to Analog Devices, and Barclays Plc. acted as an advisor to Empower.
In September 2025, Empower raised over $140 million in a funding round managed by Fidelity Management &Research Co. At the beginning of 2026, shares of Analog Devices increased by 54%, increasing the company's market value to $204 billion.
