ARAMCO has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with GCT Semiconductor

One of the largest oil companies in the world, Saudi Arabian Oil Group (ARAMCO), has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with semiconductor manufacturer GCT Semiconductor Holding Inc. This is reported in an ARAMCO press release.

The deal is aimed at developing 4G and 5G 5G infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and strengthening cooperation between the two companies in the design and development of chipsets and modules optimized for LTE, 5G and NTN networks as part of the localization of production of wireless devices and the Internet of Things in Saudi Arabia.

As part of the deal, the companies plan to integrate advanced GCT 4G and 5G technologies and AI modems to strengthen the local ecosystem. 

Saudi Aramco is the national oil company of Saudi Arabia and one of the largest oil companies in the world in terms of oil production and oil resources. ARAMCO provides 12% of the world's oil reserves, 10% of production, 14% of exports and is the source of 80% of budget revenues Saudi Arabia.

GCT Semiconductor Holding, Inc. develops 5G and 4G LTE semiconductor technologies that provide connectivity to commercial devices, including smartphones, tablets, access points, USB dongles, routers and M2M applications. The headquarters is located in San Jose (California).
