Ingosstrakh: 74% of Russians turn to doctors for the disease

In Russia, almost 74% of people who get sick or feel unwell turn to doctors. This was announced by Ingosstrakh based on the results of a study conducted jointly with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Thus, 72.6% of Russians apply to state polyclinics, clinics and hospitals that provide medical services free of charge within the framework of compulsory medical insurance. Also, 47.9% of the country's residents apply for paid medical services in private clinics or hospitals, 14.1% — for paid services in public institutions. In addition, 7.9% of patients use medical services under insurance paid by the employer.

Russians pay for tests and research in private medical institutions in 41.1% of cases. Also, 13% of respondents visit dentists, neurologists — 8%, therapists — 5.5%. Residents of St. Petersburg and Kemerovo buy a policy in 22% and 17% of cases, respectively. Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novokuznetsk and Samara account for 15% of cases each. Men and women have a VMI policy in 12% and 11% of cases, respectively. Over 91% are fully or mostly satisfied with VMI services.

Residents of Russia who apply to paid institutions are willing to spend an average of 636 rubles on a visit to a doctor or procedure. At the same time, they rely on the average cost of paid medical services and medicines in the amount of 4.1 thousand rubles per person per month. In general, 11.7% of Russians now have VMI policies. When buying a policy on their own, residents of the country expect a cost of 11.3 thousand rubles per year per insured person.
