Japanese chip distributor Macnica Holdings Inc. plans to expand its presence in fast-growing regions, including China and Southeast Asia. This is reported in a Macnica press release.

Through the acquisition of assets, Macnica expects to strengthen its position in competition with larger companies amid the desire of chip distributors to consolidate.

Macnica holds 22% of the Japanese market, which has more than 20 competitors, and intends to increase its share to 30% by 2030.

In addition, Macnica intends to acquire assets in the driverless car, healthcare and cybersecurity sectors in order to reduce dependence on semiconductor manufacturing, which accounts for 90% of the company's sales.

Mania Holdings, Inc. is the largest Japanese distributor of chips, semiconductors and integrated circuits. The company changed its name from Macnica Fuji Electronics Holdings, Inc. to Macnica Holdings, Inc. in 2022. The headquarters is located in Yokohama (Japan).
