OKB: banks have reduced the issuance of POS loans since the beginning of the year

In 8 months of 2022, banks issued 3.1 million POS loans totaling 155.64 billion rubles. The total number of new loans decreased by 41% compared to the same period of the previous year, and the volume of loans – by 30%. This is stated in the message of the United Credit Bureau.

In August 2022, the number of new POS loans increased by 12% compared to the previous month, and the volume of loans increased by 14%. In August of this year, 413.19 thousand loans were issued for 21.06 billion rubles, in July – 367.82 thousand loans for 18.49 billion rubles.

The United Credit Bureau (OKB) was established in 2004 and is the largest credit history bureau in Russia in terms of database volume. As of September 1, 2022, more than 593 million credit histories of 91 million citizens are stored in the OKB database.
