Polymetal's activity in 2022 was accompanied by an increase in the spillway, an increase in waste generation and emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Such data is contained in the company's published integrated report. The increase in the environmental burden was associated with an increase in production.

Polymetal increased the production of precious metals in 2022. Gold production increased by 2%, silver - by 3%.

The increase in production was accompanied by an increase in the spillway (by 2%), an increase in waste generation (by 8%) and emissions (by 20%) of harmful substances into the atmosphere. At the same time, the company showed a decrease in the volume of consumption of fresh water. Recycled water is mainly used in the production process.

In 2022, emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere increased significantly by 3.2 thousand tons. In total, 18 thousand tons of harmful substances, most of which are dust and nitrogen oxides, got into the atmosphere during the year from the group's activities. The highest dust emissions of 1.2 thousand tons were recorded on the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation at the Varvarinsky field. Significant emissions (912 tons) were also in the Sverdlovsk region near Krasnoturinsk at the Vorontsov field. In addition, 5 tons of lead got into the atmosphere in the east of Yakutia at the Nezhdaninskoye field.

Polymetal's adjusted net profit for the first half of 2022 was $203 million compared to $422 million a year earlier. The group's net loss was $321 million compared to a profit of $419 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA decreased by 35% to $426 million. Revenue decreased by 18% to $1.05 billion.
