In 2021, poultry production in Russia will reach about 6.8 million tonnes, the output of eggs will reach 44.9 billion pcs. As forecasted by regions, production will resume growing steadily in the second quarter towards the end of the year, Russia's Ministry of Agriculture informed.
The industry has been actively developing in recent years, with poultry accounting for 43.1% of the total production in 2020. Farms of all categories produced 6.7 million tonnes of poultry for slaughter on a live-weight basis and 44.8 billion eggs, which exceeds the 2019 figures.
That said, the breeding stock import substitution issue remains important now.
