SL Gold, an affiliate of Polyus Gold has been recognized as the winner of the auction to sell the Sukhoy log gold field in Irkutsk region, according to Russia's official auction announcement website.
The company paid RUB 11.2 million for the field. The subsoil plot is located 105 km northeastward of Bodaybo, a district center in Irkutsk region.
Polyus ranks the world's fourth biggest gold producer in terms of production volume, second in terms of gold reserves, with the lowest costs among the leading global producers. Its main production facilities are located in Siberia and the Far East: Krasnoyarsk krai, Irkutsk and Magadan regions, as well as the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
