The Spanish energy company EDP Renovaveis SA is considering the possibility of selling renewable energy assets in the United States. This is reported by foreign media.
The division, specializing primarily in solar energy, includes more than 540 existing or under construction facilities in North America, as well as a 1 GW power supply line and a significant portfolio of low-risk assets.
The assets account for a relatively small share of the total production volume of EDP Renováveis, but provide above-average profitability. The decision to sell the business was made against the backdrop of changing dynamics in the solar energy sector in the United States, which has faced difficulties, including rising costs and regulatory complexity.
