The Government of the Russian Federation has extended the simplified procedure for state registration of a number of medicines until the end of 2024. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The simplified procedure for registration of medicines was introduced by the Government in April 2022 and was supposed to be in effect until the end of 2023

In general, the period of state registration and examination of the quality of medicines is reduced by 30 days. Medicines that can be registered in a simplified manner are determined by a special interdepartmental commission. It includes representatives of the Ministry of Health, Roszdravnadzor, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, and the Federal Customs Service.

Also, by the decision of this commission, newly registered foreign drugs can be sold in the country not only in Russian, but also in foreign packaging with a label in Russian. This rule will also be in effect until the end of 2024. As for unregistered drugs in Russia, they can be used if a temporary permit is issued.
