On June 30, 2022, the Bank of Russia will put into circulation a modernized banknote with a face value of 100 rubles issued in 2022. This is stated in the message of the Central Bank.

The upgraded banknote is made in a modern design and contains a reinforced protective complex similar to a 200-ruble bill.

The hundred-ruble banknote is dedicated to Moscow and the Central Federal District. The main image of the front side is a fragment of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin with chimes. On the reverse side is the Rzhevsky Memorial to the Soviet Soldier.

The banknote is made in an olive-orange color scheme and contains a QR code leading to the page of the Bank of Russia, where detailed information about the decoration and signs of authenticity is posted.

The upgraded banknotes will be put into circulation gradually. Banknotes issued in 2022 are a legal means of cash payment on the territory of the Russian Federation and are required to be accepted at face value when paying for any types of goods and services without any restrictions. They will be in circulation on a par with the existing hundred-ruble banknotes of the 1997 model, including modifications of 2001 and 2004.
